The Apostles Creed

"I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of God the Father, almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*The word “catholic” refers not to the Roman Catholic Church, but to the universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ."

Statement of Faith:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word oWe believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration, or the new birth by the Holy Spirit, is absolutely essential. The new birth is a work of God’s grace that occurs when we respond in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.

We believe that baptism is by immersion, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and our union with Him. The Lord’s Supper is an act of  communion with Christ where the believer remembers the death of Christ through the bread and fruit of the vine.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly and victorious life.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
